Description: This is a popular hike so the trail in well maintained and easy to follow. It is also very steep with almost no switch backing. Basically follow the trail up past the tree line and then follow the ridge trail all the way up. The most difficult part is a exposed section called "Chicken Out Ridge" (it received this name due to it's exposure on each side). You will not need any technical gear to pass this point, but be careful and use good scrambling techniques. After this ridge, you might pass a snow field, depending on the time of year. Be very careful at this spot as well. Instead of crossing it on the slope, we recommend hiking to the top and then crossing. From this point you can see the peak and trail which seams almost impossibly steep but it is not. There will be some loose rocks on the last section of the hike which has make it difficult. Many people turn back at this point but keep going, it is very worth it. Once you get to the top there is plenty of room to sit back, re-energize and enjoy the view. Make sure to sign the register and take some photos.
What to bring: Since this hike is very steep, we recommend using trekking poles (especially on the way down). There is no water along the trail so make sure to pack plenty (we recommend 3 liters but some people bring 2 to 2.5 liters).
