Title: Diamond Peak
State: Idaho
Nearest City: Mud Lake
Mt. Range: Lemhi:
Type: Peak
Recommended Duration: Day
Getting There: From Mud Lake take the North Salmon Highway (28) 31 miles, then turn left at the Pass Creek Road. This road is pretty rough and rocky so a high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Take this road for 1.7 miles and then turn left. This road goes up a little hill heading North and eventually heads west towards Diamond Peak. You will pass through several cattle fence gates while on this road. You will come to a part of the road that branches to the right. We recommend staying to the left. There are 2 ways up the mountain (see the trail map). This road will head south down a hill and then back up another hill. At the top of that hill take a right. This road will end at the trail head.
Trailhead Info: It is pretty steep and rugged at the trail head. There is about one good spot for a tent if would like to camp. However you are exposed at this spot and it can get very windy.
